If I was doing something, And then someone doing exactly the same thing produced a political theory of how the benches that were mentioned in the bible were stolen from us by cars, I would reconsider doing that thing. That doesn't seem to matter in this case though

Actuellement ton coffre utilise un chiffrement fort.
Mais la science et les technologies évoluent.
On sait que RSA va casser. (un record a été battu récemment, cette semaine)
On sait qu'il ne faut plus utiliser md5 pour signer un document (on est parvenu à générer des collisions)
DES est mort depuis longtemps.
L'algo de chiffrement actuel de ton coffre est considéré comme bon actuellement ne tiendra peut-être pas dans le futur.

Je considère que laisser traîner son coffre sur le net est un risque inutile.

You are still valuable if you aren't brave enough to risk arrest.
You are still valuable if your lack of documentation means you can't associate with activists.
Your value as a human does not depend on what you can give to the cause.
@passenger and also, and this is not a criticism of your excellent post but an addition to it, there are many reasons people may not want to risk arrest including being a caregiver for someone who depends on them, being an ethnicity more likely to experience police brutality, lacking legal immigration status or not wanting to draw police attention to a family unit where someone else lacks legal immigration status.

As far as alternative SMTP servers go, so far I found chasquid, which appears slop-free, supports delivering via LMTP, and I can hook ryoms into it.
I will have to rewrite ryoms for it, but... truth be told? I like the post-data hook method a whole lot more than milters. Looking at my current script, the vast majority of useful checks are performed post-data. SPF, DKIM and some DNSBL checks are performed earlier, but... even in those cases, I rarely reject before post-data.
Getting the full email makes things simpler.
There's also opensmtpd, which supports LMTP, and supports external filters, so that's an option too. Not sure how the filters are invoked, but opensmtpd supports multiple phases, not just post-data. While post-data is enough, additional phases can be useful.
This isn't using the milter protocol, either.

Still, though, I'd agree the hot tank temperature is also a good thing to check if/when you're looking at your hot water system, just in the normal run of things. Sometimes people don't know the legionella thing and they think "hey, we don't really need this water so hot, maybe there's a setting to turn it down and save money".

Oui, mais ça augmente tout de même le risque.
Ce n'est pas pour rien que la NSA engrange des quantités énormes de données chiffrées qu'elle ne sait pas déchiffrer, dans l'espoir qu'ils pourront les déchiffrer un jour.
Si ton coffre fuite, tu ne le saura peut-être pas. Et donc potentiellement quelqu'un peut être en train d'essayer de le casser.
Je préfère éviter ce risque inutile.
